In the Catholic diocese of Zaria, the second phase of the event marking the Maryam year as directed by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria ( CBCN) took place at the premises of St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary on 13 May, 2017.
The event started with adoration of the Eucharist and rosary procession, which culminated with the celebration of the holy mass and the installation of Our lady of Fatima statue.
In his homily at the celebration, the local ordinary, most Rev. George Jonathan Dodo, emphasized the need for forgiveness and reconciliation. He said that Mary our mother encouraged us to listen to her son and be imitators of his good virtues. After the homily, the statue of Our Lady of Fatima was crowned and installed as part of the activities to mark the Mariam yea. It could be recalled that the Mariam year was inaugurated in the Catholic diocese of Zaria on April 29, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Cathedral.
