Olivebranch Reporter ties the Knot

On Sunday, December 11, 2016, Christ the King Catholic Cathedral brimmed with people as Mr. Peter Orpin, the veteran reporter for the Olivebranch Newspaper of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, took to the altar Tabitha Awok, his beloved girlfriend of four years.

In his homily, Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Ameh, the Cathedral Administrator, urged the couple to love, care, forgive and bear with each other in the journey they have offered to embark upon. Fr. Ameh asked the groom and his bride to be close to Jesus and remain steadfast in faith and prayer, especially when things do not go as planned.

Representing the Catholic diocese of Zaria was Rev. Fr. Peter Ogwuche, the communications director of the diocese, an office where the groom works since near inception. Fr. Ogwuche appreciated the effort of Mr. Orpin in the office and spoke briefly about some of his good qualities, which he said would serve him well as a married man. Such qualities of the veteran reporter were that he is a hardworking and neat person. “I have no doubts that Mr. Orpin will take good care of his bride, for he is a man of perseverance and is hardworking. About keeping the home clean, I think the bride will have to be up and doing since anyone who knows Mr. Orpin closely, will agree with me that he goes about with a handkerchief in his pocket, with which he cleans himself often,” Fr. Ogwuche said. He thanked the groom for his serves on behalf of the diocese and wished him and his bride a happy married life.
