On Sunday, September 11, 2016 Christians were advised to imbibe the culture of giving so as to attract the blessings of God.

The parish priest of St. Paul’s parish, Angwar Sarki, Rev. Fr. Frank Peter Mudu gave the advice while preaching at Christ the King Catholic Cathedral, Zaria during the celebration of children and youths harvest. “Giving, especially in the house of God, provokes God to bless who ever do so,” he said.

Fr. Mudu, a former confidential secretary to the Catholic Bishop of Zaria, further urged parents to sow a seed for their children and have faith, as God, he said, will not forsake them.

“Let me tell you why some Christians experience poverty; it is because we don’t like giving. We rather prefer to receive. If we give in faith despite the economic recession, we will be blessed without measure,” he said.

The clergyman further urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Abraham, Shedrach, Meshack, Abednego, Paul and Silas among others, whom God rewarded for their good works of faith.

Choreography, recitation of memory verses, singing of the harvest anthem by the children, donations and dances were highlights of the children and youths harvest.
