The newly created Good Shepherded Parish, Graceland, on Sunday September 11, 2016 held her maiden children and youth harvest.

The harvest with the theme “Harvest of Divine Touch” featured drama, cultural displays and choreography among so many funfair exhibited by children and youths.

In his homily, the newly appointed rector of Good Shepherded Major Seminary, Kaduna, Very Rev. Fr. Habila Dabo, urged parents to always be available for their children so as to prevent them from going astray. “Since children are precious gifts from God, there is need for parents to guild and protect them and like the father of the prodigal son, be willing to forgive when they wrong them,” he said.

Fr. Dabo further charged the youth to embrace the fear of God at all times and avoid any form of rascality, so as not to bring shame to their parents. He described the parish as full of prospects and charges the parishioners to rally round the parish priest, Very. Rev. Fr. Michael Kagarko and his Assistant, Fr. Joshua Nache, so as to take the parish to greater heights.

On his part, the chairman of the harvest committee, Mr. David Bulus Barau (KSM), who spoke on the “Value of children: the blessings of a full quiver,” highlighted the importance of children in marriage, church and society. He prayed God to continue leading the parishioners and the parish to greener pastures.
