In an unusual twist of fate, some women of Zumuntan Mata of Christ the King Catholic Cathedral (CKCC), Zaria have declared that they would go to confession if they fail to vote in the 2019 general elections.
The women gave the declaration during a prayer for the successful conduct of the 2019 general elections on Friday, February 22 in the presence the Cathedral Administrator Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Ameh.
The Cathedral Administrator had visited the women during their weekly meeting and urged them to come out en masse to vote in the elections and take it seriously.
“Consider not voting in the elections as a sin, because your vote is your right and civic responsibility. I appreciate your act of praying for the successful and peaceful conduct of the elections. Try not to be left behind,” he said.
The Catholic Women also replied the Administrator that they would come out to vote and would go to confession if they failed to.
The Administrator has been encouraging the Catholic faithful to vote and never be left behind in the just concluded elections.
