The Ladies of St. Mulumba (LSM) of Kaduna Metropolitan Council on Sunday, February visited an outstation of St. Peter’s Parish Rumi in Anguwar Mulki and donated 500 hundred thousand naira for the completion of their new church building.
Presenting the cash donation on behalf of the Knights, the Metropolitan President of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Mr. Emmanuel Shekari, represented by Dr. Cletus Igele Agom (KSM), said the Knights were encouraged by the efforts of the church members in building the structure, hence the need to assist them became necessary so as to promote evangelization, especially in the rural community. Dr. Agom, who is the Metropolitan physician, encouraged the rural community to maintain their commitment in the propagation of the gospel, and to see the donation as a step ahead.
On her part, the Kaduna Metropolitan President of the Ladies of St. Mulumba Mrs. Ngozi Obah, also encouraged the Catholic faithful to stand firm and commended them for their efforts in raising the structure. She said the LSM and indeed the entire Knights would continue to promote the propagation of the gospel of Christ through such donations as the need arises.
Responding to the gesture, the parish priest of St. Peter, Rumi and Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Very Rev. Fr. Henry Bidi Atuma, thanked the Metropolitan LSM for the donation. He described the donation as a boost for the completion of the new church building and prayed God to reward them abundantly.
“The Knights of St. Mulumba has been generous to the church for a very long. This kind of gesture was also done way back when I was the parish priest of St. Mulumba, Kurumin Sara in Kaduna Archdiocese, when the KSM supported the building and roofing of the church. It is a gesture worth emulating by others. Thank you very much and I pray that the almighty God continue to bless and reward you abundantly,” he said.
Also present at the occasion were, Professor Joseph Shebayan (KSM), Chief Paul Obah (KSM) and some Metro exco of LSM from different dioceses across the province.
