Those who waste their resources insult God’s benevolence – Fr Isek

The Parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Samaru Zaria, Rev. Fr. Augustine Isek, has cautioned against wasting resources under any guise. He gave this caution in his parish during the ongoing twenty-one day programme on Tuesday, 4th January, 2022.

Fr Isek observed that some persons complain of lack when they waste what they already have, tasking them to maintain their existing possessions because thanksgiving breeds multiplication.

“Find out what you have and appreciate them.” He tasked them. “Learn how to manage the little you have now, even if you want to be rich. Learn to be careful when God gives you what you are asking – don’t play around when plenty comes your way. Don’t waste it. Learn to be careful when God gives you what you are asking – don’t play around when plenty comes your way. Don’t waste it.

One of the reasons we do not prosper is because we are attached to what we have. Stop directing the needy to other people when you can do something about it – do something about it yourself. You are insulting the generosity of God if you waste resources. Thanksgiving is one of the secrets to receiving from God. Learn how to thank God and celebrate what you have.”

Advocating a change of wrong mentality, the clergyman divulged that mentality can provoke wealth or poverty; teaching is the only thing that can change mentality; there is a mentality of abundance and wealth; and that blessings cannot come to those who do not have the right mentality. He stated that God answers the mind more than He answers prayers and urged them to activate the right mentality through the fundamental process of dressing well and looking fine; changing their walking steps and by being contented with what God has created them to be.
