Prof CM Gonah of The Gospel Ministries International, Zaria called on Christians to involve God in every area of their lives so that it may be well with them, when he featured as the Guest Speaker at the Grand Finale of 2022 Universal week of Prayer, Palladan Zone of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Sabon Gari Chapter, which took place in St Enda’s Catholic Church Zaria on Sunday, 9th January, 2022.
The speaker built his message on the theme of the Week ‘The Lord is the Man of War (Ex. 15:3) and explained that war is a period of fighting between states or nations, noting that many people lose their battles in life because they left the Mighty Warrior out of the equation and tasking them to seek insight and guidance from God thenceforth.
“You can never operate in wisdom if you have no fear of God,” he said. “The Israelites depended on their number and strength without consulting God and the people of Benjamin defeated them in their small number (Judg. 20).
“Don’t depend on your experience and righteousness. Our righteousness outside the righteousness of God is useless. Always consult God. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. You don’t need to fight to get all these things. This year, you don’t need to fight them. Moses and his people sang a song of victory before the victory came because they trusted in God. You will sing a song of victory this year.”
He categorized war into territorial, economic, religious, revolutionary, defensive, and lamented that some Christians are afraid of proclaiming the marvelous deeds of God upon their lives because they are afraid of enemies within and cautioned guilty members against such activities for the good of the Body of Christ.
