The Cathedral Administrator of Christ the King Catholic Cathedral of Zaria diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Ameh has promised to give scholarships to children of parishioners schooling at the Cathedral Nursery and Primary School.

Fr. Ameh gave the cheering news while addressing parishioners on Sunday, September 18, 2016. He gave the details on how the scholarship would be disbursed thus, “Any parishioner who brings 2 to 3 children to the Cathedral school, one of the children will be on Scholarship until that child finishes. So I want you to bring your children to the school and take advantage of this gesture. Don’t allow it to pass you by. The school is ours and we must encourage you to bring your children for sound and quality education,” he said.

The clergyman further assured parishioners of restructuring the school for academic excellence, thereby pledging to support the school management as the aced arises.

As part of effort to further standardize the school, a five-man education committee led by Barrister John Igwe was earlier set up to properly monitor the activities of the school and give recommendations to the pastoral team and the Cathedral laity council where necessary.

It could be recalled that all schools in parishes formerly managed by the diocese under the supervision of the Education Secretary were returned back to parishes to manage them. This was approved by the Catholic Bishop of Zaria Diocese Most Rev. George J. Dodo sometimes last year.
