St. John’s Parish, Muchia Celebrates Frs Agu, Mamman

Sunday October 2, 2016 will forever remain indelible in the minds of parishioners of St. John’s parish, Muchia, Zaria as they came out enmasse to organize a Sendoff for her immediate past Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Isaac Agu and his Assistant Rev. Fr. Alfred Mamman.

In his homily Fr. Mamman who is now the Parish Priest of St. Peter’s Remi urged parishioners not to look down on themselves that everyone is gifted one way on the other.

He said that God has blessed everyone with different talents “but we have not yet discover who we are, that is why we are looking down on ourselves.” He then advised catholic faithful to discover who they are and make use of their talents.

He further said that Nigeria as a country at 56 now has not yet discovered who we are, that the leaders only focus on the oil of the South South not minding the little things around them. “When you begin to do what is not inside of you, you will go slowly” he added.

The Parishioners of St. John’s who were over whelmed with joy presented the priests gifts and other food items to say thank you for what they have done in the parish.

Fr. Alfred, who also gave the vote of thanks, thanked the parishioners for what they have done for them and prayed that God will continue to bless them.

On his part, the Parish priest Rev. Fr. Matthew Chafa and the Laity council chairman Mr. Richard Udochi welcomed the priests and gave them a cash donation on behalf of the parish. He thanked Frs. Isaac Agu and Alfred Mamman for their good work and said he would continue from were they stopped.

Other Highlights of the event were a dance by the two priests and a group picture with the people of St. John’s Parish.
