St. John’s Parish holds Youth Harvest

St. John’s Parish, Muchia, Zaria held her 2016 youth harvest on Sunday September 25, 2016.

The Harvest, with the theme “Harvest of Divine Visitation and Increase,” featured tradition displays from the youth, song ministration and donation among so many other funfairs.

In his homily, the former provincial youth chaplain of Kaduna ecclesiastical province, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ukande, urged parishioners to always encourage and support the youth in their parishes. “God always fight for two categories of people in life namely, the poor and the widows. Christians should stop oppressing the poor and the widow in their communities, for their God is always fighting for them,” he said.

Fr. Joseph charged the youth to live a Christ like life so as to make heaven, saying they should stop lying about who they are not and always stand and tell the truth about who they are. “Heaven is for those who do the will of God and obey his command, while hell is for those who neglect to do the things expected for them,” he added.

The clergyman is a priest of Kaduna archdiocese but on studies at Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA).

On his part, the parish priest, Rev.Fr. Matthew Chafa, thanked the parishioners for coming out to support the youth. He also thanked his classmate, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ukande for accepting to come and celebrate the youth harvest Mass. He prayed God to continue to lead and protect him in his studies.
